DED318 Final Project
Discuss the TWO (2) tools that were your personal favorites from the semester and why.
I really enjoyed using the Canva app. I actually ended up using it outside of class to create online promotional stuff and tickets for my sorority. I got lots of compliments on it and it was so easy to use! I also liked how updated the graphics and design elements were. A lot of the fonts other apps use are typical fonts that you would get on Microsoft Word. The fonts on Canva are different and more catching to the eye. I also like using Canva as a project option for students. It is a great app for them to create a poster about a historical figure or create a poster about some public health issue. There are a lot of different options with this app. Here is an example of something I put together on Canva about Aretha Franklin!

Another app I really enjoyed was iMovie. This app was $4.99 but well worth the purchase. This app is really cool because it has two video options with it: trailer and movie. The trailer option allows you to make a short video. There are a lot of templates that you can use to guide you through making your video! It is SO easy! Here is my very first trailer! I had a lot of fun just learning how to create an engaging movie that looked like a professional did it. At the end of the semester, we did a project about the movement Celebrating Kansas Voices. This project required us to use iMovie and create a FULL movie. Luckily, iMovie made it easy. I could see myself using this app in class to do activities or have students do a final project with it. It would be really easy to teach them how to use it.
Look back through your entire website, look at all you have accomplished and learned this semester. Reflect on what you have accomplished & learned this semester.
I honestly thought I had seen it all as far as technology went, but this class showed me how you can take something students use every day, like Twitter, and integrate it into the classroom. This class also gave me an abundance of resources to use in the classroom. I never realized how many different programs, apps, and websites you could use for your own classroom or have students use to demonstrate their knowledge. I also liked how diverse each project was. This helped me see how I could meet various students' needs. I also enjoyed looking at other teacher blogs. This helped me see how a teacher could use a website in their profession. I saw teachers using their website as a resource page for other teachers to get materials. I saw another teacher use it as a way to show what her students were up to in the classroom. I also saw teachers using their website as a site where teachers can work on their professional development skills. With so many options, I am excited to see what I can do with my own website. I am proud of all of the projects I have posted on this site and I love sharing them with my friends and family. I also love how creative I could be in this class. It really gave me a chance to show what I am capable of doing as a future teacher.
