Week 3 Review: Learning is Leading - Kyle Pace
Wow! I was blown away with the latest blog I checked out.
Kyle Pace is an Instructional Technology Coach in the Grain Valley School District, located in Grain Valley, Missouri (only about 2 hours from me!). His blog, Learning is Leading, talks about how to effectively use technology in the classroom. While this topic might be easy for people to write about, Kyle knows what he's talking about and he has an extensive list of credentials to back his knowledge up. Kyle graduated with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Educational Technology. He has worked with teachers in his district since 2004 with technology development and support. Before that, he was an elementary school teacher. Nowadays, Kyle is working on his professional growth. He became a certified Trainer and Innovator for Google for Education.

On Learning is Leading, there are all kinds of posts. Recently, Kyle wrote a post titled "Seizing Opportunities". He reflected on his passion for teaching. What really struck me was that he was basically setting goals for himself for the upcoming school year. This really influenced me because it made me reflect on what my goals should be for this school year.
Kyle also provided links to some articles he wrote as a guest on another education website. I clicked on a link titled "Five Ways to Create More Teacher Rockstars in Your School". This article is an awesome read for any kind of educator. His five steps are easy things you as a teacher can implement within your school and they would make a drastic difference. He even talks about how these same steps are constantly used in classrooms, so why not use them with your colleagues and administrators?

This blog is very useful for teachers looking to integrate technology into their classrooms. It is not easy to integrate technology in a meaningful and beneficial way where all students can benefit. However, Kyle has made many applications that can be used in the classroom and he even provides videos to help you learn how to use them before you introduce them into the classroom! If you have any questions, be sure to let him know here or follow his Twitter page!
