Week 5 Review: Teacher Reboot Camp
Meet Shelley Sanchez Terrell. She is a teacher trainer, e-learning specialist, and an author of two books. She's spent time training teachers and taught language in over 20 countries. But her resume doesn't stop there. She is big in the teacher professional development game. She is the founder and owner of various conferences, Twitter feeds, webinars, and more! To top it all off, she was named Woman of the Year in 2014 by Star Jone's National Association of Women.
With all of these accomplishments, I could talk about this woman for hours, but today we are going to talk about her website, Teacher Reboot Camp. This website is for teachers looking for professional development, ideas for the classroom, and the occasional motivational article. Recently she posted an article about resources you can use for Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19th). Some ideas included having students create their own pirate story and turn it into a visual book or video with technology or creating a treasure hunt using content that students are learning.

Shelley also posts goals for teachers to try to accomplish. This week's goal was "Be Someone's Champion". She takes a quote from a popular TED Talk by Rita Pierson to inspire her writing. Shelley says that in the coming weeks, when someone shares an idea with you, be sure to support them first. Then, if needed, we can critique, offer advice, or whatever is needed. She then posts a recent interview with Noah Geisel, who talks about the importance of being a students champion. Check the link to that below!
